Before entering your username and password, check to ensure that you are looking at the secure version of the page: the address in your browser's address bar should begin with https://, and your browser should indicate that you are looking at a secure page by, for example, showing a padlock in the address bar. |
All staff and students of the University can log into Newsagent using their university username and password. When logged in, users automatically gain access to the Tell Us page, and some users may be given additional permissions.
In order to use Newsagent to author articles you must first ensure that your account has been set up with the appropriate permissions. Members of staff who have not already done this can create a ticket requesting Newsagent access. Include your central username, and a basic summary of the audience you intend to communicate with through the system so that your feed and notification access can be set up.
If you go to any Newsagent page that enforces access control (like the Compose or Article list pages), and you are not already logged in, you will be redirected to the Login page where you should enter your University of Manchester central username and password. Please note that your old School of CS username and password will not work in this form; only your central account will let you log in.
Once you have logged in, you should be taken back to the page you attempted to access. If you get an error like the one shown below, please create a ticket to have your access checked.
