IMPORTANT: This page contains specification information. You should read it carefully, and periodically verify that your work conforms to the specification if appropriate.

As your course uses images, animations, or other media, you will need to upload the files to the wiki so that they can be exported and processed with the rest of your material. If your course doesn't use images, animations, or other media, it should.

Naming media files

For ease of administration, you are very strongly advised to prepend the name of any media files you upload with the namespace your course has been allocated. So, for example, if you are working in the FOO: namespace, you should prepend FOO_ to your filenames. If you have a file called 'example1.png', it should be uploaded with the name 'FOO_example1.png'. This makes identifying the course each file belongs to much easier.

The Media page

The Media page should contain a list, or lists, of media files used within the course that must be included with the course material during export so that it may be processed into a complete course package. Any File:, Media:, or Image: links on the Media page are treated as links to resources that must be exported, and you should ensure that every media file used in your course appears on the Media page. The export tool will attempt to detect files not included on the Media page and download them anyway, but you will receive a warning if this happens.

The format of the Media page is not strictly enforced, but it is suggested that you divide the page up into themes using level 2 headers, followed by lists of images or anims used in the theme, one entry per line.
