TL;DR

It is your responsibility to make sure you are up to speed with any of the technologies or skills required of the course unit. For example, if you are teaching a course unit involving Java, then it is assumed that your Java skills are good enough to teach at that level.

In addition, lab supervisors (or course unit leaders) should provide you with sufficient material and training to be able to support students and mark work for that unit. You may spend up to two hours per semester on preparatory work for a lab, including a meeting with the academic leading the lab.

If you have any questions about the lab, marking scheme etc., please contact the supervisor/leader at the earliest opportunity.

It is also a good idea to talk to other TAs on the same unit, to make sure you all share the same understanding of the material, and to see whether there is anything you need to clarify with the lab supervisor.
